Welcome to my very first blog post—I'm so glad you're here!
I thought I’d start by sharing a little bit about how I became a children’s book author… and how what seemed like a setback turned into something magical.
Not long ago, I was running a small business selling products through Amazon—mostly in the United States marketplace. It was a rewarding venture that taught me the ins and outs of eCommerce, logistics, and entrepreneurship. But earlier this year, as political and economic shifts made cross-border sales more difficult, I realized it was time to pivot.
Rather than wait for the obstacles to pile up, I chose to follow a different kind of dream—a creative one.
I’ve always loved both Canada and the United States, but the online chatter about Canada becoming “the 51st state” caught my attention. It felt both ridiculous and oddly amusing. That’s when the idea hit me: What if it happened the other way around?
And so, Liam’s Eh-Merican Dream was born—a playful, rhyming story where the U.S. becomes part of Canada in a child’s imaginative dream. Full of maple syrup, moose, Mounties, and fun Canadian facts, the book celebrates our culture while sparking curiosity and laughter.
I even created a narrated, animated read-aloud version on YouTube to bring the story to life for families everywhere.
That one idea lit a spark I didn’t expect. Suddenly, I wasn’t just telling a story—I was finding my voice. And I realized: I love writing books that teach.
Since then, I’ve written Petal’s Perfect Day, a gentle story about resilience, complete with a social-emotional learning (SEL) activity guide. I’ve also started dreaming up new books—including 3D papercraft tunnel books that invite kids (and grown-ups!) to step right into the scene.
At the heart of it all is a love for stories that matter—stories that help kids feel seen, think deeply, laugh freely, and grow bravely.
So thank you for being here at the beginning of this new chapter. I can’t wait to share more stories, activities, and behind-the-scenes creativity with you along the way.
